Pets at Home have partnered with the Scouts to help teach young people how to become responsible pet owners and help work towards the Animal Friends Activity Badge. During the Beavers session, young people will take part in fun, educational activities learning all about the 5 Welfare Needs for a small animal and how to correctly care for it.
Sessions are 1 hour long, and capacity varies depending on the size of the store. If you have a group over 15 children or need an alternative time, please contact your local store directly before booking.
How to earn your badge:
Learn how to care for an animal.
Find out what the animal needs. Learn about its food, habitat, space, exercise and sleeping area. (Supported by workshop in Pets at Home)
Help to take care of that animal for four weeks.
Keep a note of how you have looked after the animal for four weeks.
You can draw, take photographs or write short sentences.
Tell others in your Colony or Lodge about the animal.
- By providing your details, you confirm that you are aged over 18 and agree with these T&Cs.
- In the unlikely event that a workshop cannot go ahead, we will notify you by email but we will not be responsible for any costs incurred by you.
- Children must be supervised at all times during the workshop by a parent or guardian.
